Meet the Maxwell DC Alumni Association Board
President: Charles Cutshall
Maxwell Degrees: BA IR ’07 & MPA ‘09
Career Interests/Path: Public Service
What I hope to achieve as President: As President, I plan to build on the success of the previous board by continuing to grow interest and active involvement in the Association, expanding and diversifying the opportunities that alumni and current students have to meet and interact with one another, and highlighting the many successes of our local alumni.
Vice President: Edward Tambornino
Maxwell Degree: MPA’ 03
Career Interests/Path: Non-profit Management; President, Semantic Strategy Inc (present)
What I hope to achieve as Vice President: I want to expand the age and career spectrum of Alumi actively promoting the Maxwell School to their peers while enjoying the career and collegial fruits of a dedicated alumni network. I believe we can more strongly leverage the “Maxwell Mafia” of all career stages to continue growing as a premiere alumni network.
Social Media Chair: Sheila Muthemba
Maxwell Degrees: MPA’ 09 & MAIR ‘11
Career Interests/Path: International Development, Food Security and Agriculture, Post Conflict Reconstruction, Global Health, Gender and Africa.
What I hope to achieve as Social Media Chair: I want to explore ways that we can utilize the various Social Media platforms to share information- beyond the usual happy hour meetings-such as Job openings/ Internships/ Events relevant to our Maxwell degrees/backgrounds. It would also be great to have an international voice on the team.
Social Events Chair: Alex Haederle
Maxwell Degree: B.S. Political Science, ‘11
Career Interests/Path: Strategic communications consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton; interests in health promotion, social marketing, psychological health awareness and nutrition/fitness.
What I hope to achieve as Social Events Chair: A stronger community presence—moving away from informal happy hours and towards up-close outings around the Washington, D.C. Metro area. I also want collaborate with other Syracuse alumni groups for events that can bring like-minded professionals together under the Syracuse banner.
